H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937), perhaps more than any other author, defined what has come to be known as "cosmic horror": the feeling that man is insignificant in the vast, demonic pantheon of the mad, idiot universe. Alone, confronting the unknown, he (alternately she) is a slave, temporarily escaped from the bondage of his mind-blowing creators, who formed man for their amusement, but who will return, "when the stars are in alignment" to "blow Earth's idiot dust away."

13 artsts have come together, with sounds as shrieking and horrifying, as melancholy and weirdly bizarre as anything The Old Man of Providence ever conceived. This compilation is a tribute to someone that was more than a writer, but was also a philosopher who looked into "dark and troubling places." Until the stars are in alignment...
